About
Last Updated · 8 October 2026Who Makes Klaris,
and What Guides It?
Klaris is a small, independent product. There is no investor pressure, no aggressive growth target and no hidden partnership with cosmetic brands. This page explains who stands behind it, why our language is so measured, and how you can help.
The Story
It Started with Something a Friend Said.
Klaris began with a small conversation, not a grand plan. A friend said they could not find a plain-Turkish explanation of exactly what was in the cosmetics they used. Curious, I started looking into it myself.
The more I researched, the clearer it became that this was not just one person's difficulty: it was a substantial gap. Ingredient information in Turkish was often scattered, partly in English, or weighed down by fear and marketing language. There was almost no reliable source explaining the science behind a product calmly, with appropriate limits, in the user's own language.
Klaris set out to fill that gap and is now available: an approach that explains the INCI list in understandable Turkish, in the context of your skin and hair profile, without exaggeration, with supporting evidence, and with the final decision left to you.
Founder
Mustafa Eren KOÇ.
For now, Klaris is a responsibility held by one person. Mustafa Eren KOÇ is an independent founder with an engineering background, responsible for both the product and its infrastructure.
Klaris is not a venture under pressure to grow quickly. It is a long-running, quietly developed body of work on data and language. Over time, we value building dialogue with independent experts for scientific advice, regulatory perspectives and content review.

Scientific Advice
Our Approach to Scientific Advice
Klaris's methodology currently sits under one person's editorial responsibility. The project is, however, being designed to include independent scientific advice in the longer term. Its guiding principles are:
- Academic Independence. Advisory relationships are established with experts who have no financial connection to a cosmetic brand or commercial group.
- Transparency About Conflicts of Interest. Any existing relationship an adviser has with an institution or brand is disclosed publicly.
- Keeping Up with the Literature. Current opinions from source families such as SCCS, CIR, CosIng and EU Annex are reviewed regularly, and older methodological approaches are updated.
- Defined Scope. Klaris is not a medical authority. Scientific advice is limited to cosmetic ingredient analysis and decision support.
The timing and membership of this advisory layer will be communicated publicly. Until then, all content is prepared by "Klaris Editorial" according to our measured-language standard, drawing on the source families defined in the methodology document.

Independence
The Pressures We Do Not Work Under.
Klaris has no outside investor, cosmetic-brand sponsor or distributor partnership. That straightforward position shapes the product's language:
- No Investor Pressure. We are not pursuing rapid user growth or viral marketing targets. We have room to take the time needed to build the right product.
- No Brand Partnership. No brand payment or hidden relationship changes an ingredient assessment. Klaris does not sell products or recommend one product over another.
- No Advertising Revenue. No advertising is displayed on the page. Email addresses are not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing.
Transparency
Three Foundations, Set Out Openly.
Our decisions about what Klaris does and does not do are publicly available on separate pages:
- Our Scientific Approach: the methodology document explaining source families, scoring, profile context and our limits.
- Privacy Policy: what data we collect, how we store it and your rights under KVKK.
- Terms of Use: the scope of the service, user responsibilities and limits of liability.
These three documents will be updated as the product develops. Each material change updates the last-updated date at the top of the relevant page.
What We Avoid
What Klaris Deliberately Does Not Do.
What a product is not matters as much as what it is. Klaris avoids:
- Fear-Based Marketing. We do not use alarmist language or absolute prohibitions. We inform users through context and leave decisions to them and their health professionals.
- Disparaging Brands. We examine ingredients, not judge brands. When a signal is disputed, we try to make room for the brand's explanation.
- Medical Advice. Klaris is not a doctor or dermatologist. It does not provide diagnoses, treatment or an absolute guarantee of safety.
- Implying Official Endorsement. Names of institutions and source families such as SCCS, CIR, CosIng, ECHA, IARC, EU Annex, TİTCK and PubMed are used only for reference. There is no partnership or endorsement relationship with these bodies.
- Validating Marketing Claims. Klaris does not certify claims such as "natural", "clean" or "vegan". Ingredient information is intended to help you read such claims more thoughtfully.
Contributing
How Can You Help?
Klaris is still a young product. These three kinds of contribution are more valuable to us than investment:
- Community Feedback. We value occasional short conversations and surveys with subscribers. Newsletter registration is open; the home page explains the current status.
- Scientific and Regulatory Perspectives. Experts in dermatology, cosmetic chemistry, cosmetics regulation or science communication who would like to advise us can get in touch.
- Error Reports. A single email is enough to report a typo, broken link or information that appears incorrect.
