Klaris | Product Flow
Last Updated · 8 October 2026How Does Klaris
Read a Product?
Before a cosmetic product appears on your screen, it goes through a short process. For transparency, here are its 4 main steps, each in Turkish, measured and supported by scientific sources.
Step 1
Scan the Barcode
Find a product by its barcode. If the camera cannot read it, enter the number on the same screen. This version does not support searching by product name or finding a product from a label photograph.
A barcode is the only way to find a product, and a barcode lookup requires an internet connection.
A scan has one of three outcomes. If the product is found and its formula is complete, the full assessment opens. If the formula is incomplete, Klaris does not produce a score. It waits for the complete formula instead of inventing a number from missing data. If the product is not in the catalogue, no score is shown either; instead, the step for adding the product opens.
Step 2
Ingredients Are Matched
Different spellings are brought together under one familiar name. EU and Turkish regulatory documents, including CosIng and TİTCK records, are cross-read in context.
The matching layer combines a canonical INCI dictionary with a synonym layer that brings together different spellings. The same ingredient, written differently on labels, appears under one familiar name. Exact coverage figures will be published once the final dataset has been sealed.
Step 3
Your Profile Is Considered
Four quick questions establish your skin or hair profile: 16 skin and 16 hair profiles. The same product is considered in a different context for your profile.
Profile classification provides context, not a dermatological diagnosis. You can access your Skin and Hair Identity through /en/cilt-kimligi/.
Step 4
A Turkish Card Is Created
The Klaris Score, match reading, scientific source family and sensitivity note appear together on one Turkish card. The decision always belongs to you and your health professional.
Terms such as "high match" or "extra caution" are contextual information signals. Individual health, sensitivity and medical advice take precedence over them.
A Closer Look
The Full 8-Stage Methodology
This page presents an overview of the Klaris flow. You can read the 8 detailed stages, including ingredient channels, source-family weighting and profile cross-reading, in our methodology document.
Klaris is for information, not medical diagnosis or treatment advice. It may be helpful to discuss individual health decisions with your doctor.
Klaris | Example Analyses
Read the Same Product Through Different Example Profiles.
Explore product-level assessments alongside the match that changes with the example profile.
Masked products and example profiles, not a personal analysis. Profile matching in the app is part of Klaris Premium. The app is currently available in Turkish. An English version is in preparation.
