01

General

What Is Klaris?

What Klaris does, who it is for, and the current status of the Klaris Newsletter.

  1. 01 What Does Klaris Do?

Klaris explains cosmetic ingredient lists in clear Turkish. It is a decision-support app that brings together a general assessment, match information, and scientific sources. The app is available on the App Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android; it is free to download, with some features unlocked through Premium. The app is currently available in Turkish. An English version is in preparation.

  2. 02 Who Is Klaris Designed For?

It is designed for people who find labels difficult to read, want to make more informed choices for their skin or hair profile, and want to understand ingredient claims through calm, measured explanations.

  3. 03 Can I Use Klaris Now?

Klaris is available on the App Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android. The website's Ingredient Atlas, Academy, example analyses, and Identity tools are also available. The app is currently available in Turkish. An English version is in preparation. Newsletter registration is open; your email address is processed only for the Klaris Newsletter. To unsubscribe, write to info@klaris.com.tr.

  4. 04 Is Klaris Free? What Does Premium Include?

Downloading the app, the general Klaris Score, Reason for the Score, and Turkish ingredient cards are free. Profile-based My Skin Match, My Hair Match, and caution notes are part of Klaris Premium. Subscription options and current prices are shown on the app's purchase screen. The Klaris Newsletter is also free.

  5. 05 Is Klaris a Shop?

No. Klaris does not sell products; it is an independent information and decision-support layer that helps you understand cosmetic ingredients.

02

Analysis

How Does Cosmetic Ingredient Analysis Work?

INCI lists, general assessments, formulation context, and sensitivity warnings.

  1. 01 What Does Cosmetic Ingredient Analysis Mean?

Cosmetic ingredient analysis means reading the INCI list on a product label, understanding the ingredients' roles in the formula, and explaining that information to the user in measured language.

  2. 02 Why Is the INCI List Important?

The INCI list shows the ingredients in a product under their international names. Their order may offer clues about the formulation context, so looking at just one ingredient is often not enough.

  3. 03 Does Klaris Decide Based on a Single Ingredient?

No. Klaris aims to consider an ingredient's position in the list, its role in the formula, the other ingredients alongside it, and scientific source signals together.

  4. 04 What Does the 0-100 General Assessment Mean?

The 0-100 range is a general decision-support summary of a product's ingredient list. This number is not a definitive recommendation for use on its own; it should be read alongside the match and warning information.

  5. 05 What Does High Match Mean?

High match means the product offers a more positive decision-support signal within the relevant profile and ingredient context. It does not indicate a medical outcome or an absolute guarantee of safety.

  6. 06 When Does a Sensitivity Warning Appear?

A sensitivity warning may appear when an ingredient or formulation context could call for extra caution for certain profiles. Rather than giving a direct instruction on use, the warning explains the point that deserves consideration.

03

Profile

Why Are Skin and Hair Profiles Considered Separately?

The profile logic that allows the same product to be assessed differently for different people.

  1. 01 What Is Skin Identity?

Skin Identity is a descriptive profile summary based on four axes: oily/dry, sensitivity-prone/resilient, dark-spot-prone/even-toned, and wrinkle-prone/firm. It is not a medical diagnosis.

  2. 02 How Many Skin/Hair Identity Combinations Are There?

There are 32 combinations in total: 16 for skin and 16 for hair. Each combination, whether a Skin or Hair Identity, brings together four independent axes.

  3. 03 Why Can the Same Product Be Interpreted Differently for Two People?

An ingredient may be perceived as more supportive for dry skin while calling for extra caution for a sensitive or oily profile. Klaris aims to make this difference visible through the match information beside the Klaris Score.

  4. 04 Is the Profile Result a Dermatological Diagnosis?

No. The profile result is not a dermatological diagnosis; it is simply an in-product classification that makes cosmetic ingredient assessment more sensitive to context.

  5. 05 How Is a Hair Profile Assessed?

A hair profile is considered along the oily/dry, fine/thick, straight/curly, and natural/processed axes. The aim is to avoid interpreting hair products as though there were only one type of user.

  6. 06 Can I Use Klaris Without Knowing My Profile?

Yes. Profile selection is kept as simple as possible. If you are unsure of your profile, introductory guides and short questions help you find your way.

04

Evidence

Where Does the Scientific Support Come From?

Source families, regulatory context, and how supporting evidence is interpreted.

  1. 01 Which Source Families Does Klaris Use?

Klaris considers source families such as SCCS, CIR, CosIng, IFRA, ECHA, IARC, EU Annex, TİTCK, PubMed, and DOI as publicly available context and scientific source signals.

  2. 02 Does Every Source Carry the Same Weight?

No. A source's type, recency, scope, and relationship to the ingredient may lead to different weights. Klaris aims to read source families in context, rather than as a mechanical checklist.

  3. 03 Do You Have an Official Relationship With TİTCK or ÜTS?

No. Klaris has no partnership or endorsement relationship with TİTCK, ÜTS, or any other official institution. These are considered only as publicly available regulatory context.

  4. 04 Does Klaris Give Products Official Approval?

No. Klaris does not provide official approval, certification, or a certificate of compliance. Product cards are solely for decision support and information.

  5. 05 Will Sources Be Visible on the Product Card?

In the intended experience, the source families supporting an assessment will be shown briefly and clearly on the product card. More detailed explanations will appear on the methodology page.

  6. 06 Does a Scientifically Supported Assessment Mean Medical Advice?

No. A scientifically supported assessment makes the source of information visible; it does not replace diagnosis, treatment, or a personal health decision.

05

Türkiye

Why Does the Turkish Market Need Its Own Layer?

A Turkish-first experience, local regulatory context, and the language consumers use.

  1. 01 Why Does a Turkish-First Cosmetics Platform Matter?

Most users in Türkiye make cosmetic decisions through Turkish explanations, not English or Latin terminology. Klaris aims to build that language directly in Turkish.

  2. 02 Why Is Klaris Needed When International Apps Exist?

International apps can be valuable, but product coverage in Türkiye, users' language, regulatory context, and cultural decision-making habits differ. Klaris puts this local layer at the centre.

  3. 03 Will Klaris Cover Every Product in Türkiye?

The aim is to analyse a broad share of the cosmetic products commonly sold in Türkiye. Coverage expands gradually over time.

  4. 04 Does Klaris Single Out Brands or Products?

No. Klaris is designed to explain ingredient lists in a measured, user-focused way, not to judge brands.

  5. 05 Does Klaris Verify Product Claims?

Klaris is not an institution that officially verifies or certifies marketing claims. Ingredient information helps you read those claims more knowledgeably.

06

Trust

What Are the Limits of the Service?

Clear boundaries around medical advice, specific health conditions, pregnancy, and how brands are discussed.

  1. 01 Does Klaris Give Medical Advice?

No. Klaris is not a doctor, dermatologist, or healthcare provider. It does not provide diagnoses, treatment, or personal health recommendations; it explains cosmetic ingredients for information.

  2. 02 Can I Base My Decision on Klaris if I Have Allergies?

If you have a history of allergies, your doctor's or relevant healthcare professional's advice takes priority when choosing a product. Klaris may increase awareness of allergens; it does not replace your personal health history.

  3. 03 Is a Klaris Assessment Enough During Pregnancy?

No. Ingredient assessment during pregnancy depends on personal health history. Klaris cards are for information; they do not replace your doctor's advice.

  4. 04 Does Klaris Use Alarmist Language?

No. Klaris explains points that may call for extra caution in measured terms, rather than using language that causes panic or strips away context.

  5. 05 Does Klaris Tell Me to Use or Stop Using a Product?

No. Klaris does not give direct instructions on use. Its assessments are prepared to help you make your own decision more knowledgeably.

07

Data

How Are Email Addresses and Personal Data Handled?

The Klaris Newsletter, the KVKK approach, cookies, and sharing for advertising.

  1. 01 What Data Is Collected During Newsletter Registration?

Newsletter registration stores your email address, consent time/version/scope, channel, and registration source. To limit abuse, a one-way digest of the network address is processed for at most two hours, rather than the address itself.

  5. 05 Will My Product Search History Be Shared?

Product search history on the website is not linked to newsletter registration. All of the limited records retained for newsletter registration are listed in the Newsletter Privacy Notice.
