How to Interpret
a Product Score

Klaris produces two distinct values and keeps them separate: the Klaris Score belongs to the product and stays the same whoever is looking at it; match changes with your chosen Identity. Neither is a decision on its own.

Two Values

Klaris Score and My Skin Match

Klaris shows two numbers on a product card, and they describe different things.

  • Klaris Score · This belongs to the product itself, based on its INCI list and formulation context. It does not change with your Identity.
  • My Skin Match (or My Hair Match for hair) · These appear in the Turkish app as Cilt Uyumum and Saç Uyumum. They change with your chosen Identity: the same product may show a high match for one Identity and a more moderate match for another.

This distinction is fundamental to Klaris: we separate the signal about the product from its interpretation in your context. Neither is a ranking or a quality award.

ii.

Match Bands

High, Partial, Extra Caution

A band label appears beside the match value. These boundaries are not arbitrary; they correspond exactly to the match thresholds in the Klaris assessment model:

  • 70-100 · High Match Signal · A positive match for this Identity; still consider the formula as a whole.
  • 45-69 · Partial Match Signal · Needs to be considered in context; one or two ingredients may call for additional, Identity-specific caution.
  • 0-44 · Extra Caution Signal · This does not mean the product has been rejected; this Identity calls for more context, and the decision remains with you and your healthcare professional.
iii.

Identity Differences

The Same Product, a Different Identity

This is where the central Klaris distinction becomes clear: the Klaris Score stays fixed while match changes. The same moisturiser may have a match of 92 for one Identity, 64 for another, and 71 for a third. The product has not changed; the context in which it is interpreted has.

The reason is Identity-specific context: an ingredient family may be readily tolerated by one Identity while calling for extra caution in another. Match reflects your context; the Klaris Score reflects the product itself.

The Klaris Score is free. Profile-based match scores, shown in the app as Cilt Uyumum (My Skin Match) and Saç Uyumum (My Hair Match), are part of Klaris Premium.

Beyond One Number

The Score Comes With Context

Several layers of context always accompany the score card:

  • Scientific Source Family · Publicly available source types such as CosIng, SCCS, CIR, and ECHA.
  • Sensitivity Warning · Ingredient families that may call for extra caution for this profile.
  • Klaris Assessment · A brief, measured interpretation of the product's formulation context.
  • Medical Disclaimer · Klaris does not provide medical advice; the decision rests with the user and their doctor.

Limits

A Score Is Not Medical Advice

A score is not a definitive instruction to use or stop using a product. Klaris is a cosmetic ingredient analysis app; it does not provide a medical diagnosis, a treatment plan, or an absolute guarantee of safety.

If you are receiving prescription treatment, are pregnant, or have a significant skin condition, discussing the decision with your doctor may offer a more context-sensitive approach.
